E-Governance in Haiti
Electronic governance or e-governance is the application of IT for delivering government services, exchange of information, communication transactions, integration of various stand-alone systems between government to citizen (G2C), government-to-business (G2B), government-to-government (G2G), and Government-to-employees (G2E) as well as back-office processes and interactions within the entire government framework. Through e-governance, government services are made available to citizens in a convenient, efficient, and transparent manner.
One of the components of the 3rd industrial revolution we are experiencing that underdeveloped nations need to undertake in order to move their constituencies, and economies forward is in the space of digital transformation. Specially digital transformation in the realm of governance. The reason being is that some of the root issues that plague many countries trust, transparency, and accountability can be addressed most effectively by automating and digitizing governance and bureaucratic processes. By doing so you can more efficiently deploy capital and resources to your citizens.
For this reason Haitians in Tech is focused on creating a technology curriculum for the Haitian diaspora that incorporates civictech education, and that supports and curates civictech projects in collaboration with stakeholders in Haiti.
Our vision is to empower the Haitian diaspora to more effectively and efficiently support citizens, local govts, civil society organizations, and businesses in Haiti in furtherance of a fully integrated data driven economic development plan for Haiti.
